The Youngest Candidate - A Jason Pollock Film
Author: UberDragon | Filed under: Blog, TwitterSince leaving New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina one of the things I’ve missed the most is the amount of creative people that thrive there. During my decade plus stay in New Orleans I met an eclectic mix of artists, actors, film makers, street kids, politicians, & business men. I was able to connect on such a wide range of personality types thanks to my business “Realm Of Delirium - New Orleans First Cyber Cafe”. Also playing a large role in the variety of people I met was my own performing arts, fire entertainment. I met a lot of interesting people like Enigma and the rest of the Jim Rose circus side show crew. My fire shows even introduced me to Ozzy Osbourne thanks to my performing at one of his Ozzfests.
Today I was reminded of this spirit when I saw Jason Pollock send out a tweet about his new film “The Youngest Candidate“. First I have alot of respect for independant film makers, I knew a handful of them in New Orleans, and there is alot of energy in the work. But as I took a look at what the film was about I knew I had to share. First from the website here is the film’s synopsis:
“It follows the story of 4 teens that ran for public office in America. Funny, inspiring, poignant, and ultimately uplifting, ‘The Youngest Candidate’ is not just a film about running for office. It is the coming of age story of four idealistic young adults who dared to confront the corrupt political systems in America. Through their journey these young candidates learn about fair play, leadership development, racism in politics, the importance of family, and many other lessons that they will carry with them throughout their lives. In the face of great adversity, these four young adults braved all the odds to make it to Election Day to show that regardless of the outcome, it didn’t matter… It’s all about how you play the game.”
As you can see - this is a story worth sharing, I immediately watched the trailer available (it’s right there above.. stop reading and watch!) on the website and became inspired instantly. These kids have got it together, I’m very impressed with each of their stories. Two of the young adults followed come from the North East my current home and the gentlemen from Hartford, CT has a particularly inspirational story that struck a personal chord of truth for me. Jason Pollock - you’ve done an excellent job on this inspirational film, thank you for sharing!
I definitely recommend checking out this documentary, this is one to share with the entire family! You can follow Jason Pollock and his work on twitter at http://twitter.com/Jason_Pollock

Loved the trailer and the subject. Sad to see young adults learn about the reality of politics but inspiring to know they have the energy and drive to change the world.
~ Kudos Jason! Can’t wait to see it!
